SHINES in action at SEENEOH Test Site

March, 6th 2026
Fondation OPEN- C had the pleasure of welcoming the ORPC Ireland team to Bordeaux for a three-day operational visit to the SEENEOH test site. An exciting and concrete milestone in the SHINES project co-funded throughInterreg North-West Europe (NWE) with the goal of demonstrating the potential of hydrokinetic energy. As part of this project, ORPC will play a key role by deploying a river turbine, the RivGen Power System, on the Garonne.

🔹Explore SEENEOH, a 7-hectare area dedicated to testing
🔹Visit the electrical substation and the generic floating platform
🔹Visit the facilities at theGrand Port Maritime de Bordeaux
🔹Exchange during working sessions on marine operations and environmental monitoring

Operated by the Fondation OPEN-C, SEENEOH is a key site for hydrokinetic innovation. With ORPC, a river turbine will soon be deployed and tested in real conditions. We are delighted to see this project moving forward along with our growing European collaboration.
