SHINES was present at the Seanergy conference on June 17 & 18, the leading event for Marine Renewable Energies! Seanergy is a business forum for all stakeholders in the industry to make connections, grow their business, share ideas and, more widely, to contribute to the development of all kinds of offshore renewable energy.
On Wednesday, June 18, the SHINES project took center stage at SEANERGY by Bluesign with a pitch session titled:
🎤 “How to Turn Tidal and River Energy into Sustainable Solutions for Tomorrow”.
Held in the Pitch Area of the event, the session brought together key actors from the SHINES consortium to highlight the real-world potential of hydrokinetic energy across Northwest Europe.
🔹 Speakers:
– Marlène Kiersnowski, Project Coordinator of SHINES and of the Paimpol-Bréhat and SEENEOH test sites (Fondation OPEN-C)
– Erwann Nicolas, developer of HydroWing (Inyanga Marine Energy Group)
– Adèle Lamotte, developer of TidalKite (SeaQurrent®)
The discussion focused on the deployment of river and tidal technologies at pilot sites in France and the Netherlands, and how these innovations are paving the way toward a decarbonised and resilient energy mix. The session also highlighted the strategic role of pilot sites and cross-border collaboration in accelerating the market readiness of these technologies.
The SHINES pitch drew strong interest reinforcing the project's central message: hydrokinetic energy is not just a future promise, but a viable and scalable solution for today’s energy challenges.
